I plan to move the nature shots to a sub-page, add pages for my offered services/rates and one for information about me and my experience working on computers. I will still have the pictures of borked computers on the front page, just not as many. I am also making a flash free, smaller page for mobile devices. If you are here it probably means your computer is borked and you might have to use your phone’s browser to find me to fix it for you. The way the site is now will not make that a very enjoyable experience.

I will be testing out different themes over the weekend so the site might look different from one hour to the next. I plan on staying with WordPress because there is a lot of developer support and I can help set it up for others.

So in short please be patient while I get the site and my dreams off the ground.

If you ever wondered what blown capacitors look like, here are a few of the worst ones I have ever seen. They must have smelt very acrid and strong with blue smoke and even popping sounds and sparks on occasion.

I have been thinking of running Tomato firmware on my wrt54g in order to increase the range of the wifi and using QOS for streaming video around the house. One post I read mentioned that heat might be an issue and since I have not done any modding or soldering for months it seemed like a perfect little project. The 60mm fan and rheostat is total overkill but I really hate the high pitch whine of a laptop fan. I thought of soldering the fan straight to the board but that would have meant cutting the wires next time I want to open it up. This way I have fan control and quick disconnects. I am not going to post screen shots of setting up Tomato because there are much better tutorials than I can make with my limited experience with it. Bigger pictures are here.

This repair/recycle was from last month. Tear down was quick and easy,great practice. It is now a kids webkinz toy and cd player. Full shots are here.

This one had not been opened in over 2 years. As you can see it was home to a little spider and from the looks of it most of the babies escaped to the outside world. My wife thinks I need to charge extra per species. Larger pictures as usual are here.
